The Jubilee Singers is a choral group consisting of female voices which was established in 1973 by past members of the Brisbane Eisteddfod Junior Choir. We are a friendly group with a proud history.
The choir is based in Brisbane with rehearsals held at Ashgrove on Monday evenings and performs at retirement villages, weddings, community concerts and special events. A major concert is held every second year.
Our music covers a broad repertoire ranging from classical to contemporary styles including musical comedy, classical, sacred and jazz with piano accompaniment or a cappella. The Jubilee Singers perform in unison as well as two, three and four part harmony.
The Jubilee Singers held their 40th Anniversary Concert on Sunday, 26 May, 2013 at The Gap Uniting Church. The concert was an outstanding success. Honoured guests included Saxon Rice MP, Member for Mount Coot-tha, and Geraldine Knapp, Councillor for The Gap.
After a very frustrating 2020,being unable to perform because of Covid restrictions,we finally returned to rehearsals and participated in the Citizenship Ceremony at tha Arana Leagues Club on Australia Day, where we sang a collection of Australian Songs to a very appreciative audience.
We are currently preparing for a concert on 24th October at the Mitchelton Senior Citizens Centre. More information will be available closer to the event.
We are available to perform at Nursing Homes/Retirement Villages and Community Events.
