The Jubilee Singers is a choral group consisting of female voices which was established in 1973 by past members of the Brisbane Eisteddfod Junior Choir. We are a friendly group with a proud history.

The choir is based in Brisbane with rehearsals held at Bardon on Monday evenings and performs at retirement villages, weddings, community concerts and special events. A major concert is held every second year.

Our music covers a broad repertoire ranging from classical to contemporary styles including musical comedy, classical, sacred and jazz with piano accompaniment or a cappella. The Jubilee Singers perform in unison as well as two, three and four part harmony.

Recent Events
Since Christmas, we have had a lengthy discussion about our 40th anniversary concert to be held May/June, 2013. We want this to be a very special event to celebrate the choir’s long and proud history which begins with the Brisbane Eisteddfod Junior Choir. Planning includes having our original conductor Bill Moxey being the MC and conducting a special ‘nostalgia’ bracket. We invite ex-choristers to join in this section. Favourite soloists will also be invited to perform.

During February we held an ‘open rehearsal’. This allowed ladies to listen to our range of music and find out what we are about. We had a good response with three new singers attending regularly since then. New members are always welcome. (Please refer to ‘Contact Us’ page for more information).

On the 4th March, The Jubilee Singers performed at Albert St Uniting Church. One listener particularly enjoyed the 5 part ‘Morning Hymn and Alleluia Chorus’ from ‘The Sound of Music’, sung ‘a capella’.
